AHAHBA. Eugene (Horace) Dake
Eugene was born in 1861 to parents Benjamin W. Dake Jr. and Adelaide Herrick Dake. He was married to Mary Goodwin on March 8, 1888 in Vinton, Iowa. They belonged to the Methodist church. According to census records, his brother Fred Carlton Dake worked the same farm with Eugene in Canton Township, Benton Co., Ia. in 1895. Family tradition indicates Eugene was killed in a stone quarry cave-in accident near Palo, Linn, Iowa. The actual date of his death is unknown but it was between 1895 and 1900, per census records. 

Family of Eugene (Horace) Dake

AHAHBAA. Clifford Earl Dake
Clifford was born on Oct. 17, 1887 in Iowa to parents Eugene (Horace) Dake and Mary (Goodwin) Dake in Benton Co., Iowa. He first married Jeanette Anna Cobb, probably in Benton Co., Iowa.  He later married Emma Sophia Schultz on Mar. 15, 1916 in Murray, Minnesota.  For a while they lived in Custer, Montana.  In 1944, he was listed in the voter roles in Alameda Co., California.  He died on Sept. 7. 1974 in Fremont, Alameda Co., California.

 Charley was born in 1889 in Iowa to parents Eugene (Horace) Dake and Mary (Goodwin) Dake.

AHAHBAC. Freddie Dake
 Freddie was born on Oct.16, 1891 in Shellsburg, Benton, Iowa to parents Eugene (Horace) Dake and Mary (Goodwin) Dake.  In 1917, he enlisted in the Army for World War I in Murray, Minn.  He married Bertha Olstern in Minnesota.  In 1920 he was living in Moulton, Murray, Minn.  He died on Sept. 18 1980 in San Leando, Alameda, California.

Freddie Dake Family

AHAHBACA. Kenneth Iwrin Dake

Kenneth was born on April 23, 1914 in Chandler, Murray, Minnesota to parents Freddie Dake and Bertha (Olstern) Dake.  In 1920 census, he was living in Moulton, Murray, Minnesota.  He married Dorothy Marian Stagg in Alameda, California.  By 1940, he was living in Alameda Twp., Alameda, California.  He He died Dec. 24, 1994 in Contra Costa, California

Lorraine was born in 1924 in Murray, Minnesota to parents Freddie Dake and Bertha (Olstern) Dake. In 1930, she was living in Moulton, Murray, Minnesota.

 

AHAHBAD. Birdie Dake
Birdie was born on Oct.1892 in Iowa to parents Eugene (Horace) Dake and Mary (Goodwin) Dake.  In 1900, she was living in Vinton, Benton, Iowa.

AHAHBC. Fred Carlton Dake
Fred was born June 1866 in Kishwaukee, Ogle Co., Illinois to parents Benjamin W. Dake Jr. and Adelaide Herrick Dake. He was married to Kittie B. Miller on March 17, 1888 in Vinton, Benton Co., Iowa. In 1895 he was listed as farming with his brother Eugene in Canton Township, Benton Co., Iowa. In the 1900 census he was listed as living in Fremont Township, Benton Co., Iowa. He later remarried on 7 Sept. 1901 to Anna Hanover who had a son named Wilmer Hanover.  Wilmer was later adopted by Fred.  (Wilmer was born in 1906 in Iowa City, Johnson, Iowa.)  Fred ran a mercantile store in Mt. Auburn, Iowa. He and his wife were Methodist church members. He died of a heart attack while still living in Mt. Auburn, Iowa. The date of his death is unknown.

Fred C. Dake Family


AHAHBCA. Mamie Dake
Mamie was born to parents Fred C. Dake and Anna Hanover Dake in 1903 in Taylor Twp., Vinton, Benton, Iowa. She married Theodore R. Dick. She died in 1991 in Des Moines, Iowa.

AHAHBCB. Wilmer Clair (Hanover) Dake
Wilmer was the adopted son of Fred Carton Dake and Anna Hanover.  He was born in 1906 in Iowa City, Johnson, Iowa. He married Madeline Cilvick on Sept. 9, 1939 in Schuyler, Missouri. From 1910 to 1930, he was living in Fayette, Linn, Iowa. He died in 1947 at Palo, Linn, Iowa and buried in Palo Cemetery

Wilmer Dake Family

AHAHBCBA. Darrell Dake
Darrell Dake was born to parents Wilmer Dake and Madeline Cilvick Dake on Aug. 11, 1927 in Palo, IA. He was married at least twice, the first marriage to Dorothy Voracek (she later remarried a Mr. Rozinek of Cedar Rapids, IA) and the second marriage to LaVerle (last name unknown) on Oct. 27, 1961 in Shreveport, LA. He was a race car driver, well known in the Cedar Rapids, IA area and though out the midwest. He raced in 1960 and 1961 at the Daytona 500. He died of cancer on Monday, August 6, 2007 in Cedar Rapids, IA and was buried at the Campbell Cemetery.

AHAHBCBAA. Ronald Clair Dake
Ronald (Ronnie) was born April 14, 1948, in Cedar Rapids to Darrell and Dorothy Voracek Dake. He worked as a contractor for D & N Fence Co. Ron enjoyed his Porsche, boating, jetskiing, playing and watching sports, and spending time with his family and friends. He died on June 1, 2008 at St. Luke';s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, IA following a long illiness.

Jennifer born to parents Ronald Clair Dake and Lynn (Rae) Dake. She married John LeGrand and had a child; Nicole. They were living in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 2008.

Alice was born in 1869 in Ogle Co., Illinois to parents Benjamin W. Dake Jr. and Adelaide Herrick Dake. She was married to John Dewalt on March 17, 1888 in Vinton, Benton Co., Iowa. The date and place of her death is unknown, but Nira Dake (daughter of Floyd Adelbert Dake) indicated she died at a young age while still living in Benton Co., Ia.
